More than an accessible box

Travel should fit the person, not the other way around.

Accessibility and inclusive travel planning are an important part of my practice. I look beyond whether a hotel simply checks an “accessible” box, because successful travel is about how all of the details work together for the person taking the trip.

As a Certified Autism Travel Professional with specialized accessible-travel training, I plan around the things that can shape someone’s experience long before a suitcase is packed.

The details that change the trip

Planning that starts with real life.

There is no one-size-fits-all version of accessible travel. We begin with what helps you feel prepared, comfortable, and able to enjoy the experience.

Mobility & access

Room configuration, walking distances, transportation, transitions, and the practical details that make a destination easier to navigate.

Sensory needs

Crowds, noise, downtime, pace, and the breathing room that can change the feel of an entire trip.

Daily rhythm

An itinerary with shape and substance, without packing so much into each day that the experience becomes exhausting.

Personal preferences

Food, communication, interests, routines, and the things that help travel feel more comfortable and more like you.

How we shape the trip

A plan built around what helps you travel well.

The best planning is not about adding more. It is about making informed choices, seeing how each detail affects the next, and leaving enough room for the trip to feel good once you are there.

  1. 01

    Start with your experience

We talk about what has worked, what has been difficult, and what you want this trip to feel like. You do not need to arrive with a perfect brief. A useful starting point can be as simple as knowing that a past trip felt too rushed, too loud, too uncertain, or not flexible enough.

  2. 02

    Make the right choices early

Where you stay, how you get around, and the rhythm of the itinerary can shape the entire experience. We use those decisions to create a trip that feels considered from the beginning, rather than trying to solve problems after everything is already booked.

  3. 03

    Connect the logistics

Transportation, walking distances, meal options, room needs, activities, and transitions are looked at together. That bigger picture matters because a detail that works on its own may not work as well once it is part of a full travel day.

  4. 04

    Keep the plan human

A thoughtful itinerary leaves room to pause, change course, or spend more time where it feels right. The goal is not to make every minute productive. It is to make the trip easier to enjoy.

Families, friends & groups

Everyone can enjoy the vacation.

Multigenerational and group travel brings together different ages, interests, abilities, schedules, and expectations. It can take some thoughtful herding of cats, and a plan that leaves room for each traveler to have a good time.

I help bring those moving pieces together, from where to stay and how to get around to the pace of each day, so the group feels coordinated without anyone feeling lost in the crowd.

A calmer way to plan

You bring the dream. I’ll handle the details.

Chrissy Plans Travel is for people who want more than a booking service. I serve as a travel advisor, researcher, problem solver, organizer, and advocate throughout the planning process.

My goal is to take the stress and uncertainty out of planning while creating a trip that feels personal to you, from the first conversation through the details that matter along the way.

Frequently asked questions

A good place to begin.

Do I need to know every accommodation before we begin?

No. You can bring what you know, whether that is a clear list of needs or simply a sense of what has made travel harder in the past. We will talk through the details together.

Is this planning only for autistic travelers?

No. This work is for autistic and other neurodivergent travelers, travelers with mobility or accessibility needs, and families or groups who want thoughtful planning around the way they actually travel.

Can you help with multigenerational or group travel?

Yes. I help balance different ages, interests, abilities, schedules, and expectations so the trip works for the group without losing sight of each person.

What is the first step?

We begin with a complimentary discovery call. You can share what matters most, what you would like to avoid, and what would make the trip feel like a success.

Tell me what matters most about your travel experience, and we’ll start there.
